Hold Steady in this Storm

Each one of us are the Captains our own ship on the sea of life. No one else can sail our ships for us. The sea of life is much like the sea itself. It is never always calm or always rough. Real captains never lose their courage when faced with a storm on the open sea because they know to do so would put in danger their ship. Real captains know very well the meaning of hold steady or steady as she goes. They batten down their hatches, point their bow into the wind and ride out the storm. They do that because they know from experience the storm will surely pass and they will again be sailing on a calm sea. We are much like those real captains. We need to take to heart their example and follow in their footsteps. Do not panic in the face of what appears to be an overwhelming storm in our midst. Panic is as much the enemy as is the very troublesome social and economical conditions we are now facing. All real captains have a port of call in mind when they set sail and we do too. Our port of call is the re-instatement of our nation to a sense of normality and common sense. It is true we are being challenged right now but we as a nation have overcome unbelievable obstacles in the past and we will together overcome those obstacles facing us now. Those un-American impediments must be removed, surmounted and forever stamped out.

Jerry, I like the example of life as the sea and ourselves as captains of our own ship. I repeated this to one of my students this past week. As we all do sometimes, students often like to find all kinds of excuses and have the tendency to blame cirumstances or others for a bad performance, or they have become consumed with negativity and want to give up. As you encourage your audience to stay positive and keep the faith in ourselves and our country, I try do the same with my students and with myself. It is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel sometimes, but I believe the election this past November was the beginning of the end for this regime. We Americans can be lazy and asleep, but we can also be strong and alert when we have to be. I think it’s in our inner core, and that is something the Obama administration doesn’t understand. I’m betting on my country to come out of this dark and dreary valley as we have in times past. Conservative talk radio is playing a huge role in saving this country and keeping Americans
informed. You and others like you are the Paul Reveres of this generation. Thank you for all you do, Jerry.
